Job Summary:
Work as a key member of the technical implementation team to ensure integrated AV systems are delivered according to project specifications. This role requires strong collaboration with internal departments and customers and includes responsibility for onsite commissioning, technical validation, and customer engagement. The Field Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the functionality and quality of DGI solutions while representing DGI to clients throughout the commissioning process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in early project planning to understand system design and scope of work.
- Review technical documents and collaborate with the project team on implementation plans.
- Plan and communicate the technical commissioning strategy for each project.
- Determine and communicate special installation needs prior to commissioning.
- Participate in QA/staging to familiarize with system configuration and ensure readiness.
- Provide remote commissioning guidance when appropriate.
- Conduct system commissioning and validate that installations align with the scope of work.
- Systematically troubleshoot and escalate issues through proper channels.
- Document project punch lists and communicate closeout status to PM and team.
- Act as the technical DGI representative to customers, assisting with site readiness, training, and progress updates.
- Periodically rotate into Quality Assurance and Service departments to maintain well-rounded technical knowledge.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in the AV industry, including hands-on installation and field commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of networking (VLANs, Subnetting, IGMP, DNS).
- Expertise in DSP configuration and tuning (Biamp, QSC, Extron).
- Advanced troubleshooting and debugging of control systems and languages (#, Simple, Lua, JSON, HTML).
- Excellent documentation, time management, and project planning skills.
- Ability to lead or co-lead technical teams to project completion.
- Proven ability to navigate challenging customer interactions professionally.
- High emotional intelligence, teamwork mindset, and drive to succeed.

Travel:
This role includes daily travel to job sites and occasional out-of-territory travel for projects and training.
