Field Service Technician

SUMMARY:

The AV Field Service Technician will work closely with the DGI Support Team to provide onsite service and support to clients at client sites. The AV Service Tech will be providing an exceptional customer experience with the emphasis on restoring functionality to the client systems. Candidates must have an extensive audio and video background and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex audio, video, and control systems.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ability to independently think, problem solve, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to conduct a business meeting, present to an audience, and conduct solution training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills that allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret AV drawings.
  • Experience with the troubleshooting of Commercial Audio-Visual systems
  • Read & follow AV drawings/blueprints.
  • Collect data and use test equipment to perform analysis to identify failures (fluke, ohm, Wireshark)Competent with hand tools.
  • Competent with power tools.
  • Perform crimp cable terminations.
  • Use a digital multimeter.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & COURES:

  • AVIXA CTS & CTS-1
  • AVIXA Essentials of AV Technology
  • Crestron 101
  • Syn-Aud-Con Course 50
  • Audio DSP – All manufacturers
  • Unified Communications (Zoom, MS Teams)

 

PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employee is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Some light lifting of objects is required. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Occasional travel to job sites and travel out of state for projects and training.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in the integration of audiovisual, video conferencing and closely related technologies preferred.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office 365 Suite of applications.
  • Highly organized, and effective with personal time management.
  • Basic written & verbal communication.
  • Must be a responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate planning, organization, and implementation skills that allow the successful
    completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
