Senior Accountant

The qualified Senior Accountant candidate will be reporting to the Controller by providing administrative and financial support services. The position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties. The qualified candidate will be coming in the office. This is not a remote position. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In conjunction with the Controller, you will have oversight of the overall financial and operational health of the Company.
  • Partner with all levels of the organization to evolve, nurture, and cultivate a winning culture.
  • Advising the management team on corporate financial performance, operational guidelines/expense management, development of management dashboard reports, financial policies, financial systems, compliance, financial operational processes, plus any M&A analysis integration.
  • Direct interaction with LLC owners, banks and vendors by providing timely, accurate financial information creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
  • Fully understand the financial needs of the business and its different product lines, implement best practices with an emphasis on continuous improvement. Streamline processes and create efficiencies within the accounting department.
  • Oversee preparation of annual budgets, monitor operating budget statuses and measure financial performance.
  • Review monthly financial statements and supporting documentation; submit monthly reports, with variance notes, to the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Maintain/ develop a reliable cash flow projection process.
  • Monitor all ACH Wire transfers and Cash collection efforts to ensure receivables are collected in a timely basis.
  • Assist in preparation of insurance analysis across the Company’s divisions; assist in coordination and management of business insurance packages, overall risk management and audits.
  • Work with the IT team to ensure that the company’s ERP systems (Great Plains Dynamics, FieldPoint and TQ) are fully utilized, optimizing accounting workflows with print and technology teams.
  • Lead and develop team members, supervisory duties for up to 5 direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. An Associate’s degree in accounting may be considered with the right experience.
  • 5 to 7 years professional experience in accounting and finance
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • OSIP and/or CCIP knowledge preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Proficiency in GreatPlains
  • Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management and vendors
  • Able to work as a team player
  • Open to development of skills and knowledge
