Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager will ensure that all warehouse activities are carried out efficiently and profitably.  This role successfully coordinates & manages the handling of job-related materials.  Responsible for directing the shipping/receiving duties within the company.  Updates inventory information system to maintain accurate inventory levels.  The Warehouse Manager will be accountable to the Vice President of Operations.  Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members and employees of the company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.
  • Hire and train new warehouse employees
  • Schedules and oversees warehouse staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and per company policy.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receives and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to policy.
  • Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any differences.
  • Coordinate with carriers for material pick-up and deliveries.
  • Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with other departments.
  • Research, identify, and present new ideas to improve warehouse operations.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Warehouse Clerk shall possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.  This person must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work well with other people and be proficient with personal computers.
  • At least five years of related experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date
  •  Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  •  Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.

 

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

  • The employee is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Some light lifting of objects is required.
  • Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
