The Modus platform of Advanced Design Tools continues to improve with even more enhancements to help you and your AV clients experience a new space before it’s built. Modus, a specialized design system, allows designers and their clients to experience and work within a space using a virtual reality (VR) headset and industry-leading software. Modus already transports the user into their new space at “Modus Speed” so you can load the specifications and layout of a potential space and create a library of equipment such as video screens, microphones and furniture. Commonly used vendors and hardware can be modeled in your custom experience so you can swap any aspect of the design while seeing the complete experiential impact of your changes. Now, it’s even better with new equipment and capabilities.
The first new feature of Modus is the “Reverberation Teaching Assistant.” The Reverberation Teaching Assistant educates clients on the basics of reverb and highlights areas that may require acoustic treatment. When it comes to designing a space, acoustics matter. Sound is energy, and it bounces. When it does, the quality of the space changes dramatically. Within Modus you can see the effect of too much reverb followed by the power of a well-designed solution.
Along with enhanced light fixtures and popular solutions from Poly, Crestron, Starke and Viscoustic to complete the look of your new space in VR, Modus added an All-Weather Series Surface Mount speaker to its equipment library. You can change sizes and even tilt the speaker in a specific direction in the menu’s properties tab. When you tilt the speaker, it will aim wherever you are at in the room and stay aimed at that location even when you move it around.
Your Modus-powered experience serves as a unique differentiator as you compete for business with other AV firms. Bringing virtual reality to your project planning ensures an effective, on-budget, buildout with minimal costly modifications. You and your clients can save time and money by having all the right equipment and experts on the project from the start. With Modus, the future of AV design is virtual.
